Communicating Environmental Problems as a Basis for Creating Sustainable Family Habits. CRO Laudato Si’ Research Results

The paper presents the results of a research conducted among Catholic believers in Croatia during 2020 and 2021. was carried out as part CRO Laudato Si' project (N=1324). In second phase, four focus groups were with 20 participants. overall objective is to determine whether families communicate about environmental problems describe experience communication sustainable habits family. show that on family democratic open. vast majority respondents (97%) mostly or completely agreed statement: “It necessary point importance one's own society”. group provide deeper insight into relations reveal social relationship within which are not discussed regularly, but some cultivated spontaneously. These daily such waste separation, water energy saving, etc. However, younger members pass information this topic elderly therefore their role micro-level significant. That related meso level, educational institutions phase secondary socialization. We conclude from our sample have non-economic exchange problems. Communication (non-verbal especially) important for both children parents can empower willingness change unsustainable habits.
